Remote work not permitted. May require infrequent travel to unanticipated client sites in the U.S. to address emergent client needs, assist with Burro robots, or train on a new product. Directly interface with customers to triage high severity failures with field support team and improve machine up-time. Analyze robot diagnostic data to identify control limits for pre-emptive corrective actions. Assess fleet performance, cluster similar failure modes, prioritize issues for engineering, and assign issue resolution tasks to appropriate team members. Work with our engineering team to develop scalable fleet operations and diagnostic tools to enable remote support for thousands of machines. Influence engineering development scope and timeline. Support, coordinate, and improve software deployment process across the fleet. Communicate the voice of the customer internally.
Senior Manager, Engineering, Perception, Planning, and Controls

Manage the Perception Planning and Controls team’s technical work and drive the team to excellence; support the professional development of your team members, providing mentorship and guidance; drive and communicate the technical roadmap for perception planning and controls; ensure team alignment with the company vision and strategy; attract and retain high-will, high-skill engineers to the PPC team; drive excellence in the engineering team by continuing to stay up to date on best practices and developing technologies; contribute proactively to maximizing the company’s revenue by providing customer-centric engineering solutions; tackle complex technical challenges across the autonomy systems, contributing to design and code improvements for safety-critical features; monitor field performance and customer experience to diagnose issues, implement technical solutions, and maintain reliable system operation.
Requires Master’s degree in Robotics, Robotics Engineering, a closely-related field or the equivalent, and 24 months experience in Perception, Planning and Controls.
